Krystelle debates in the Commons

276 elected members of UK Youth Parliament (aged 11-18) debated the top issues affecting young people across the country last Friday, live in the House of Commons Chamber. Chaired by the Speaker of the House of Commons, Rt Hon John Bercow MP,
Members of Youth Parliament voted to campaign for votes at 16 and a curriculum for life in 2017.
Our very own Krystelle Edwards-Stedford joined her colleagues to take part in the debate. The vote which followed to decide the National Campaign declared ‘Votes at 16’ top of the agenda. Clearly, an important issue as demonstrated by Daragh O’Reilly in this animated speech:

A ‘Curriculum that prepares us for life’ came in a close second and Lambeth Youth Council is already working with local schools to create a specific PSHE programme for the borough’s secondary schools.
